Omar Ruiz Earns Professional Engineer License
Congratulations to Omar Ruiz on earning his New Mexico Professional Engineer license. He holds a master’s degree in civil engineering, with an environmental engineering focus, from the University of New Mexico (UNM) and is a certified Water Sample Technician 2 with the New Mexico Environment Department Drinking Water Bureau (NMED DWB). Mr. Ruiz has been a valued member of our engineering team since joining DBS&A in 2018.

DBS&A engineers provide specialized design expertise from planning and feasibility assessments, preliminary engineering reports, cost analysis/assessment, drawings and specifications, and bid and contract documents to construction observation. Mr. Ruiz specializes in water system design, stormwater drainage, and asset management assessments. His wide range of skills, including AutoCad Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, Infowater Pro, construction observation, and sampling expertise make him a dynamic team member. Recently he has supported post-fire debris removal work in Northern California, provided on-going water sampling services for select New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) rest areas, supported water system improvements projects in Northern New Mexico and Arizona, provided construction observation services for the Hopi Arsenic Mitigation Project (HAMP), along with other water-related projects.
