DBS&A is seeking a qualified and experienced project level Geologist or Engineer in various locations. This full-time position requires an MS or PhD degree in geology, geoscience, earth science, engineering, or a related field, and at least five years of relevant work experience.

As a project level Geologist or Engineer, you will lead and manage complex projects related to geologic modeling and carbon capture and storage (CCS) for various clients in the energy, mining, and environmental sectors. You will apply your technical expertise and knowledge of geologic processes, subsurface characterization, reservoir simulation, and CO2 injection and monitoring to design, implement, and evaluate CCS solutions. You will also supervise and mentor junior staff, prepare and review technical reports and proposals, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- MS or PhD degree in geology, geoscience, earth science, engineering, or a related field
- 5-10 years of relevant work experience in geologic modeling and CCS
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in geologic software such as Leapfrog, Petrel, Eclipse, CMG, or equivalent
- Excellent technical writing skills; including conveying technical ideas to a non-technical audience
This position may require ability and willingness to undertake periodic travel, including possible short-and long-term assignments to remote project locations or industrial areas, may include working in adverse weather conditions and the ability to traverse varying terrain, and requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. This position also requires that the potential employee pass a pre-employment drug screen. Potential employees must also undergo a pre-employment physical, must possess a valid Driver’s License and maintain a driving record acceptable to our insurer, and must be eligible to work in the United States.
Position level and compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Pay ranges from $80,000 to $120,000.
Desired Qualifications
- Professional registration or certification in geology or engineering, or the ability to obtain
- Experience building 3D subsurface models of geology and subsurface fluids
- GIS experience including spatial plotting of water, environmental, and geologic datasets (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Experience and demonstrated ability in managing and querying large water, environmental, and geologic datasets (e.g., MS-Access, SQL, Python)
- Experience with statistical analysis of environmental datasets
