Dr. Stephens is applying his specialized technical expertise in vadose zone hydrology and numerical modeling of groundwater contamination as part of an Independent Technical Review of Los Alamos National Laboratory Chromium Interim Measures and Plume Characterization. The ITR will evaluate interim measures to prevent migration of the hexavalent chromium plume beyond the LANL boundary, obtain required data and conduct Corrective Measures Evaluation.

The theme for the 2024 Workshop is “Ripple Effect: Addressing Water Scarcity”. Senior Engineer Jennifer Hill will also be in attendance.
The Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds (DWSRF) are administering money through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to address PFAS or emerging contaminant concerns.
Safe drinking water requirement: Public and tribal water systems must submit initial water service lines inventories by October 16, 2024 to comply with U.S. EPA Lead and Copper Rule Revisions. DBS&A can provide a GIS-based inventory, online mapping, and federal funding assistance support.
